What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure that is widely used in Europe and elsewhere to treat various injuries and medical conditions. This medical specialty targets problem areas with microinjections of conventional or homeopathic medicines, vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Tiny "medicinal bullets" are delivered directly into the mesoderm (middle layer of skin) that are highly specific to the condition being treated. Among its many applications, Mesotherapy can be used for the following:

  • Cellulite Elimination
  • Meso-lift
  • Body Contouring

Mesotherapy ( Mesotherapie) was recognized by the French National Academy of Medicine in 1986 as an integral part of traditional medicine. Each day, thousands of doctors worldwide use Mesotherapy to help tens of thousands of patients.

Mesotherapy to eliminate cellulite

Mesotherapy can eliminate cellulite on the legs and buttocks, breaking down the collie flower appearance of skin, producing a smooth contour. The average patient eliminates all visible cellulite in 10-25 sessions. Some patients require additional treatments if their cellulite is particularly severe. On average, a patient will have completed their treatments in less than 10 sessions.

Mesotherapy is completely safe when performed by a well-trained physician. In fact, during the 50 years that Mesotherapy has been practiced, no deaths have occurred as a result. Compare this to liposuction, which causes approximately 100 deaths per year.

The most significant side effects of Mesotherapy are black and blue marks, a 15- to 20-minute burning sensation, mild to moderate soreness for 1-5 days, and (as with any injection) a slight risk of infection. All patients return to work the same day.

Meso-lift

Mesotherapy is a safe, natural alternative to invasive cosmetic procedures. The Mesolift process delivers vitamins, minerals and amino acids directly into the skin to nourish and rejuvenate, promote production of collagen and elastin, and stimulate your metabolism. As your skin ages, circulation decreases, and the resulting reduction of oxygen and nutrients hinders your body's ability to flush out toxins.

After treatment, patients commonly describe their skin as looking rested, radiant, glowing and firmer. Mesotherapy can be used a supplement, or an alternative, to many anti-aging regimens, including botox, laser resurfacing, peels, antioxidants, topical creams and facelifts.

Mesotherapy is also a highly effective rejuvenating treatment. The procedure can be used to tone and tighten sagging skin on the neck, legs, abdomen, arms and hands. In Europe, women often start treatments in their thirties, but Mesotherapy can prove valuable during any stage of a woman's life.

Body Contouring

Mesotherapy is a procedure used for weight loss and body sculpting to reduce, eliminate and contour specific undesired fat pockets. This method targets the receptors on fat cells that produce lipogenesis (fat production) and lipolysis (fat breakdown). Receptors that break down fat are known as beta receptors; those that create fat are alpha receptors. Alpha receptors are stimulated to produce fat when you ingest food containing carbohydrates, fat, amino acids, hormones or alcohol.
